Eucalyptus is a tall, evergreen tree native to Australia and is recognized for its camphor-like scent. It has over 700 known species, including Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus polybractea, Eucalyptus kochii, and Eucalyptus loxophleba. The main chemical component of eucalyptus is eucalyptol, which is primarily responsible for the plant's fresh and minty scent. Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus radiata are the most abundant in eucalyptol and therefore possess the most health benefits attributed to this compound.

Directions For Use

Diffusion: Add 4 drops to a diffuser. 

Topical Use: Mix 5 drops of essential oil with 10 ml of carrier oil and apply to the skin.


Oil Applications

A steam bath with this oil is known to alleviate congestion of the upper respiratory tract. It can help improve the symptoms of nasal congestion associated with a cold or flu, bronchitis, and sinusitis. It has baceriocidal effects.


When diffused in a small room, it will get rid of bacteria in the air and make the room feel refreshed.


When put on the skin, it brings down fever, and when mixed with lavender essential oil, it can help treat chickenpox. Furthermore, it is effective in soothing arthritic and muscular pains and aches. Eucalyptus application to the neck, back, and head areas can help soothe emotional conditions. It can also repel insects.
